Welcome!
Let me tell you a story about two friends — both smart, both full of potential. One chose the safe and familiar path. He focused on learning what was already known, solved problems from textbooks, and stayed within the limits of what others had already discovered. His journey was smooth, steady, and led to a good
career.
The other friend was different. He was always curious — asking
“Why does this work?”,
“What if we did it another way?”, and
“Can this be improved?”. He didn’t just accept answers — he explored them. He was the kind of person who got excited by problems others avoided. He had a passion for exploring new topics, acquiring unfamiliar concepts, and transforming
unconventional ideas into thoughtful experiments. Every failure was a lesson, every challenge an opportunity. He didn’t mind falling — as long as he was falling forward. While the first friend built a strong and secure career, the second built a visionary and impactful legacy — one that pushed boundaries, sparked innovation, and helped move the world forward.
This simple story says some observations on
considering research path. It’s not just about finding answers — it’s about asking the
thoughtful questions. It takes
hard work,
discipline,
creativity, and the courage to explore the unknown. People talk about smart work a lot these days, but remember:
smart work starts where hard work ends .
What Is Research, and Why Do People Do It? "Every day people do research as they gather information to learn about something of interest. In the scientific world, however,
research means something different than simply gathering information". So, Research is an exciting journey full of challenges and surprises. It’s for those who like to think deeply, solve real problems, and create something meaningful — not just for themselves, but for
the Human World,
Struggle for Existence, and
Sustainable Development.
I’m Dr. Gopal Chandra Jana, and I working on how Artificial Intelligence, Medical Signals & Image Processing and Computing, Brain-Computer Interface, and Human-Computer Interaction can work together to build intelligent systems — especially in Health Informatics/Healthcare — that truly understand and assist people. My research interests include EEG signal analysis, biomedical signal and image processing, human and brain-computer interfaces, vision and signal processing, machine learning, deep learning, explainable machine learning, reinforcement learning, and AI applications in healthcare. I am particularly focused on proposing novel intelligent approaches theoretical and experimental study, developing portable, real-time healthcare solutions and assistive technologies that enhance wellness and quality of life.
I love working with curious students, dedicated researchers, and innovative research Labs. Whether you’re just starting your research journey or looking to collaborate on something impactful, you’re welcome. I am actively seeking enthusiastic research collaborators, PhD scholars, and internship students who are eager to work on innovative, impactful challenges. Definitely, together we can transform our hard work into impactful publications and innovative products through dedicated contributions, commitment, and shared vision.
If you’re ready to learn, explore, and create something meaningful — welcome aboard! Let’s begin the adventure. Catch the latest announcements and stay connected!
